With its clean esthetic, the GF Profuso seems like it should be a fixed gear but it has, in fact, been converted into a single speed with the addition of a Velosteel coaster brake.
Born as a steel framed bicycle from the 70s this “Pearl of Veneto” is a easy rider with an odd and funny set of handlebars. Oh so comfy! According to her equally odd and funny owner.
The successful conversion of this singlespeed started with striping which revealed a completely chromed steel frame underneath! We decided to keep the remnants of the original frame in the seat tube and drop outs as well as across the front fork.
The Profuso will live together with the RZ Millesimé! What a lucky couple of bikes! We wonder which of the two bikes will mount the seat for young Albert.
From this evening this singlespeed (pretending to be a fixed gear) will get around dressed like this:
Coaster brake bike “ProFuso”
Tech sheet:
- Lugged steel frameset “Perla del Veneto”
- Singlespeed crankset
- Polished NISI rims
- Atala large flange front hub
- Velosteel coaster brake hub
- Michelin Dynamic 700×28 tyres
- 3ttt mod. Touriste stem
- Vienna handlebar, upside down
- MKS AR-2 Road Pedals
- Black Brooks Flyer
- Creative concept: Biascagne Cicli

And here is how we met this steel bike (not yet a singlespeed) with its chrome heart.
If you like this conversion please feel free to leave a comment,we always like to know what you think about our bikes.
